Ms. Fizzle is teaching her class about electricity, so she takes them on a magic school bus trip through the town's power lines. The students learn a lot about electricity: how it is generated and how electric currents create heat, light, and motion in such household objects as toasters and televisions. Pen-and-ink, watercolor, colored pencil, and gouache illustrations accompany the text.

The Propagation of Radio Waves
This examination of the ionosphere and magnetosphere presents the theory of their effect on radio waves and in coporates recent findings from space science and plasma physics.
It also includes accounts of some of the mathematical techniques now used, including W.K.B. approximations, Airy integral functions, and integration by steepest descents. The book is divided into two parts: ray theory and full wave theory.
The first is useful for high frequencies and includes ray tracing and caustic surfaces. The second is used for lower frequencies when the approximations of ray theory fail.
Much of the book is concerned with the ionosphere treated as a horizontally stratified medium, but there is some discussion of the magnetosphere, whose structure is more complicated.
This includes an account of whistlers and ion cyclotron whistlers.
A full bibliography provides approximately 600 references.
